Approval of Minutes

Motion: Jason moved to approve the previous minutes.
Second: Grace
Vote: Unanimous – Passed

Finance Committee Report

• Office for Aldi gift cards moved to Aurora; process delayed, check not yet deposited by corporate.

• Supplemental Gift Cards
  Motion: Grace moved to use budget funds to purchase Jewel or Aldi cards to supplement until the Aldi cards arrive.
  Second: Iris
  Vote: Unanimous – Passed

• Rental income: $30/week. Ati donates for rent.
  Motion: Grace moved to add the equivalent of Ati’s rental payments ($150) as an additional donation to the food depository.
  Second: Iris
  Vote: Unanimous – Passed

• Insurance: Requirements mostly met; only one person still needs to submit paperwork. Background checks to begin January 2026.

Pastoral Search Committee

• Candidate performed strongly in interviews.
  Discussion:
  • Elizabeth: Good for him to preach so the congregation can experience him naturally.
  • Larry: Agreed.
  • Jason: He hit all marks as a listener.
  • Iris: Distinguished between Jason and Iris appropriately; listened well and was present.
  • Grace: Confirmed he is a good, present listener despite high energy; already has proactive ideas for connecting neighborhood organizations with the church.

Motion: Grace moved to invite the candidate as a guest preacher (without revealing he is a candidate) so the congregation can experience his preaching, especially considering members’ mobility issues.

Vote: All in favor – Passed

Worship Committee

• Charles is on schedule (no further details).

Laptop Ministry

• No new donations; nothing to report. Grace suggested a budget for Laptop Ministry needs. Jason said he will assess that for the next Trustees meeting in a structure that distinguishes spending for budget.

Phone Status

• Monthly cost ~$60.
• Jason: Need to change the phone number (spam issues).
• Jake: Account locked while attempting password recovery; working to regain access.

Pastoral Contract / Report

• Pastor Carey’s contract ends December 31, 2025.
• Plan a final goodbye/event this month.
• Pastor Carey absent; no report.
• Last Sunday’s bulletin not received by some; Jake to investigate.
