Finance Committee Report
- Fund Transfer: Jake requested a transfer of $30,000. Discussion confirmed that per prior meeting agreements, funds can be transferred when needed without a separate vote.
- ALDI Gift Cards: Currently issuing $2,000/month (20 cards). Agreed to increase to 40 cards per month to avoid running out while waiting for card replenishment and to prevent turning down requests.
- Grace will sign the check for ALDI cards tomorrow.
- COLA Raises: July employee raises at 2.3% COLA, as approved last fall.
Insurance
- Provide safety document to Ada to sign.
PBC Report
- Grace and Dan were scheduled to meet but it did not pan out for personal reasons.
- Next step: Explore whether their respective lawyers can communicate directly if a meeting cannot be arranged.
Pastoral Search Committee
- UCC meeting reinforced that the committee is on the right track and doing well independently.
- Key principle reaffirmed: getting the right pastor is more important than getting a pastor quickly.
- Search committee will resume full activity when Iris returns from vacation.
Worship Committee
- Monthly community conversation held during the first week of the month.
- Nadine offers to share messages.
- Grace occasionally delivers a message.
- Elizabeth reported everything is going well.
- Jason provided a laptop for music requests to enable quick turnaround.
Website
- Discussion on how to access as administrator for hosting and domain.
- Grace will contact the prior pastor who set up the church's emails and Google accounts to create an account for the pastoral search committee and other needs.
Labor Day Picnic
- Grace suggested we order 10 extra t-shirts for raffle and provide to additional volunteers.
- Grace asked about adding a QR code for donations to various ministries.
- Grace and Jason will work to develop a leaflet with information on the church and its ministries.
- Grace asked to continue participation with Taste for the Homeless.
- Jason suggested we seek sponsorships (financial, in-kind, info exchange, or material contributions) such as our bank from across the street.
- Explore listing ministries as sponsors on the back of t-shirts.
Other Business
- Ada Wright has been hired. She has begun light work on the website and will continue as time allows. New email setup also discussed.
- Diane is still recovering and has upcoming checkups.
