Trustees Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, November 4, 2025

Attendance

Voting members present: Jason, Elizabeth, Francesca, Grace, Iris
Non-voting member: Jake

1. Approval of Minutes

Motion: Jason moved to approve the minutes from the October meeting.
Second: Iris
Vote: All in favor – Minutes approved

2. Finance Report

Current balance: ≈ $18,000

November Plate Offering

Motion: Grace moved that all undesignated plate offerings for the month of November be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, with one check issued in December.
Second: Iris
Vote: All in favor – Motion approved

Insurance Renewal

  • Policy renewed October 31, 2025
  • Annual premium remains $4,300 (unchanged)
  • Workers’ compensation also renewed

3. Pastoral Search Committee

  • Interview with candidate scheduled for next week

4. Worship Committee

  • November 2 – All Saints celebration: Joys & Concerns will honor loved ones who have passed
  • Largest attendance in recent memory with many new faces
  • Christmas Pageant – Sunday, December 21
  • Christmas Party / Potluck same day

Christmas Party Budget

Motion: Grace moved to allocate $1,300 for the December 21 Christmas party (catering $770 + entertainment $300 + buffer).
Second: Francesca
Vote: All in favor – Budget approved

  • Ask congregation on November 16 about repeating the magician

5. Laptop Ministry – Jason

  • Current balance: < $50 according to Jake
  • $60 cash donated after recent Linux conversion
  • 65 total laptops given out to date
  • 3 laptops converted to Linux in the last month

6. Cell Phone / Internet

  • Zoom internet working great (Jason)
  • Suggestion: get a new number due to spam
  • Current bill: $64 (+$14 fees/taxes)
  • Jake will send bill to Grace to verify possible tax-exempt status

7. Other Business

  • Ask Charles if he is open to playing piano during:
    • “Greet Your Neighbor”
    • Offering
    • Arriving earlier / staying later
      → Approach in stages
